Campden BRI Hungary with the support of the European Commission DG REGIO and in cooperation with the National Research, Development and Innovation Office and the Ministry of Agriculture Hungary, the Innoskart ICT Cluster and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), organized a S3 conference on the food industry on 19th-20th September 2019 in Budapest.
SKIN partner Adrienn Molnar chaired the conference which was supported by the active participation and collaboration of other SKIN project partners including Collison and Associates Limited (UK), ACTIA (France) and Uzhhorod National University (Ukraine). SKIN partner, Martin Collison gave a keynote address on day 1 of the conference on how short food chains are changing and the technology which is driving these changes with Prof Andras Sebok of the SKIN partnership giving a presentation on food chain technology for smaller companies. Martin and Andras then joined a panel session and jointly chaired a summary workshop on day 2 of the conference.
SKIN project partners and regional nodes benefitted by exploring future scenarios on how innovation in SFSCs could transform Europe’s agri-food sector. The event supported knowledge about new, small scale up technology solutions they can adopt in their businesses.Producers from two Hungarian SKIN Regional Nodes got the opportunity to promote their products through business match making with their food used in the catering: Éltető Balaton-felvidék Egyesület and Felső-Homokhátság Vidékfejlesztési Egyesület.
